Geological Mapping

GTK's mapping programmes produce basic information for the needs of the extractive industry, land use planning, construction and environmental protection.

Strategic aims for geological mapping:

• The current regional mapping programme will be replaced by more thematic, project oriented data capture, interpretation and product delivery.
• Data will be standardized and regularly updated to provide seamless national coverage at any desired scale.
• Mapping resources will be reassigned to mapping of centres of population growth and areas for natural resource potential.
• Airborne survey programmes will be completed.
