GTK’s land use and construction segment supports public and private-sector decisions related to land use by providing user-focused materials and expert services, promoting land use solutions that consider economic and environmental factors in construction of urban growth centres, and supporting implementation of the Baltic Sea Strategy and the EU Marine Strategy Directive.
Preliminary assessment of the constructability of soil and bedrock can often be done by using our existing data. By combining and interpreting different soil and bedrock data and collecting additional data from the field, we produce accurate constructability models to support land use planning. In addition, special surveys such as investigating the properties of soft soil provide assistance even on the level of construction planning. The preliminary assessment of the bedrock’s fracture zones is based on our collected bedrock data and the interpretations of our experts are a good starting point for planning underground construction.
