The national depot for diamond drill core

The national depot for diamond drill core houses almost 3.0 million meters of diamond drill core from more than 28 000 boreholes. The cores have been obtained from deep drilling operations carried out in mineral exploration, mining, engineering geology etc.

National Drill Core Register contains basic metadata about cores. You can use the Active Map Explorer to view the locations of drilling holes.

The depot is situated at Loppi, about 80 km north of Helsinki. Customers can study the drill cores in the depot. The costs for equipment, labour and staying overnight will be charged according to the  price list.
