Geophysical Data

Ground geophysics

Ground geophysics data include results of magnetic, electric and gravimetric ground surveys. Normally associated with exploration, and therefore spatially very scattered.

Regional gravity

The regional gravity data available from the survey are as follows:

The Finnish section of the Fennoscandian Bouguer anomaly grid is available in two separate versions:
1) 2.5 km x 2.5 km grid
2) 10 km x 10 km

The regional gravity data of the Finnish Geological Survey, which only partially cover the territory of Finland (see the Pdf file ). The coverage varies from 1 to 6 stations per sq. km depending on the area.

Geophysical laboratory data

The Geophysical laboratory measures physical parameters of rock and soil samples. Results are utilized in geological, exploration, paleomagnetic, mineral magnetic, environmental and building stone applications.

National Petrophysical Database:
131 000 records, including rock type and sampling site information. Specific gravity, magnetic susceptibility, remanent magnetism. P-wave velocity, galvanic resistivity, rock and mineral magnetic parameters.

Airborne geophysics

Results of airborne magnetic, electromagnetic and radiometric measurements covering the whole country (by 2008) using 200 m line spacing and 30 m flight altitude are availabe at a fee in Geosoft- and ERMapper formats.
