GTK Research Archives holds vast amout of research documents resulting from the surveys carried out in GTK from it's early history to present. The archive collections contains over 70 000 items including unpublished reports, field notebooks, maps etc. The language of the documents is mainly Finnish or Swedish, though some reports are written in English.
The Archive contains also collections from other organisations which have been operating in the field geosciences in Finland, e.g. reports and maps of Outokumpu company's exploration activities and claim reports to the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The database RAPGEO contains references to our unpublished reports. The key words in the database are both in Finnish and in English. RAPGEO contains also geographical place names and numbers of map sheets referring to the reports. The database contains currently app. 5 000 records. Copies of the material can be ordered (price list). Also increasing amount of reports (>4000) is available in full-text (pdf). Naturally the material can be studied in the Archives, by appointment.
OKU reports database contains reference to
the reports concerning Outokumpu companies exploration activites in Finland. Searchable information
contains e.g. authors, titles, reporting years, geographical place names and map sheet numbers.
Increasing number of reports are avalaible in full-text (pdf). Please, note that these reports are
not archived in the Reseacrh Archives in Espoo, but in Outokumpu. Outokumpu Archives is open
by appointment and ontact person is Eija Vallimies (eija.vallimies

Claim Reports is a database tailored for customers interested in exploration activities. The database contains information about claims and claim reports made by claimants on their exploration activities carried out in the claim areas. Please, note that the database isn't official register of claims, and not the all claims have been reported to the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Most of the claim reports are available in full-text (pdf). Information about the latest claim reports can be found in a separate list.
The Archive is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Archive is closed 14.06.-02.07. and 02.08.-13.08. 2010.
